The minutes after a collision are stressful, and mistakes made then can cause more injuries, legal trouble and lost evidence. This online course walks work drivers through exactly what to do, step by step, when they are involved in a collision.
What learners cover:
- Securing the scene and preventing a secondary collision
- When to call 911
- When a collision must be reported to police in Alberta (injury, or more than $5,000 in damage)
- What information to exchange, and what not to say about fault
- Documenting the scene with photos and notes
- Reporting to your employer and taking part in the collision review
Format: self-paced and interactive, with real-world scenarios and a 10-question knowledge check (80% to pass). Learners who pass get a certificate of completion they can download right away, and their score and completion date are kept on file.
