Parking Lot Plowing with a Front-Mounted Plow

Lot plowing happens at night, in poor visibility, in tight spaces full of parked cars, curbs, light poles and people on foot. This course builds the habits that keep operators, pedestrians and property safe, with the records to show the work was done.

What learners cover:

• Why lot plowing is its own job: the hazards, occupiers’ liability and slip-and-fall claims
• Planning each site before the season: markers, site maps, and an interactive exercise on where snow piles should and shouldn’t go
• The pre-shift check of the truck and plow, with a printable checklist
• Running the blade: float, down pressure, angle, travel height and plow lights
• Plowing the lot: order of work, windrowing, speed, curbs, islands and parked cars
• Backing up safely, protecting pedestrians and working with spotters
• Long storm nights: fatigue, working alone, getting stuck, carbon monoxide, and a printable plow log

Format: self-paced and interactive, with real-world scenarios and a 12-question knowledge check (80% to pass). Learners who pass get a certificate of completion they can download right away, and their score and completion date are kept on file.
